Second Grade Success September 8

Weekly Spelling Homework: Please Notice Change in Days Monday Practice Reading Words to an adult
Tuesday Write each word 3 times
Wednesday Study for test
Thursday Write words in a sentence (7up sentences). You may use more than one spelling word in one sentence. Don’t forget to underline your words.
Friday Test will be given using ten words and two bonus words

Math- We have finished graphs. We are now working on place value and base ten. In the next few weeks, we will be exploring even/odd numbers, greater than, less than, and skip counting (counting by 2s, 5s, 10s).
Reading- We are finishing up our first unit. This week the genre focus is on poetry.
Writing- We are finishing the classroom student books. Writing the books will help us develop our ability to write complete sentences with correct punctuation. We will also be exploring acrostic poems and rhyming couplets this week.
